A Fusion of Expertise in 3D Printing, Biomedicine, Engineering, and Optics

About Aarviken

Aarviken is a Slovak company bringing 3D-printed eyewear frames from the German brand HEADRIX (produced by New Line Optik) to the Slovak and Czech markets. New Line Optik has been active in Western Europe since 2005 and, in recent years, has focused on the advanced production of personalized frames that combine modern technology, sustainability, and precise customization.

The Aarviken project is led by two individuals with different backgrounds but a shared vision. Dávid Gurbaľ, a biomedical engineer and 3D printing expert, began developing custom eyewear during his studies at the Technical University of Košice. He later partnered with New Line Optik to bring this innovative product to Central Europe.
Miroslav Kvapil brings over 14 years of experience in the optical field and currently works at the family-run AgnesOptik.

When Research Becomes Real-World Innovation

Collaboration and Research Background

Aarviken takes pride in its academic and technological foundation. We collaborate with the Technical University of Košice, where the first prototypes of personalized frames were developed as part of university research in the field of prosthetics and orthotics. Our partnership with Biomedical Engineering, a leader in 3D printing of medical-grade implants, allows us to draw on extensive experience in additive manufacturing for the human body.

This combination of academic precision and medical-grade standards enables us to bring products into the optical industry that are not only stylish and comfortable but also technologically refined down to the smallest detail. Thanks to continuous research and in-house prototyping, we are able to guarantee a high standard of quality and functionality in every HEADRIX frame.
